Make more space for planting

Design your garden for more flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and trees to absorb more CO2 and pollutants from the air.

  • Get advice to select plants that grow well in your area.

  • Plant shrubs and trees as well as flowers — to create a structure that will support wildlife all year round.

  • Check the eventual size of shrubs and trees and don’t plant them so close to the building that they block sunlight or damage foundations.

  • Create raised beds that are easy to reach and care for.

  • Inside your home, plants will absorb both CO2 and pollutants from the indoor air.

Tip

If you have solar panels on the roof don’t plant trees or climbers that will shade the panels when they grow tall!
