Durability
 

  • Get samples to see if materials feel robust.
     
  • Select products with long warranties.
     
  • Check the manufacturer’s estimated service life.
     
  • If necessary, spend a little extra for durable materials and products.
     
  • Build carefully to avoid long-term problems, such as rainwater penetration.
     

Disassembly
 

  • Avoid bonding materials together – physical connectors such as screws and bolts mean it’s much easier to separate the components for repairs.
